Welcome to the Madhouse today I finally got the chance to watch HBO’s Documentary on Andre the Giant. Now this isn’t the first or second documentary I’ve seen about Andre, but it is definitely the best. This one really took a more in depth look at the beginning of his wrestling career and some of the names he went by in the early days of his career. This is one of the many things this documentary let those of us who may have seen other documentaries on him know. I for years never know some of the different names he went by during the early years that were not “The Giant” this is really one of the little things that set this film apart from the other. Now there are other things that I thought it seemed like HBO might be hinting at in this documentary and one was the almost excessive amount on Hulk Hogan. This leads me to believe that they may be doing a Hulk Hogan documentary either later this year or maybe next year. The one thing though that really made this documentary really stand out for me was the score or background music throughout the film it really had that old school filming style score. The music really seemed to set the stage for the emotions throughout the film and like I said it really stood out and gave power to what they were trying to tell. All in all I would rate this an 8 out of 10. So if you have 90 minutes and want to watch a great documentary this is the on so far this year to really see.
