The return of everyone’s favorite karate kid Johnny Lawrence. Except this is not the fun loving Johnny from the first Karate Kid film. This is a Johnny who is barely getting by doing odd jobs and still having difficulty living in the now. Soon our hero starts to return to form and is plagued by the same little gnat. That’s right not only is our hero back but the girlfriend stealing face kicking Jersey rat has also returned, Daniel LaRusso only to give our hero nothing but problems
Ok lets be real Johnny was the bad guy in the first film no matter what little YouTube clips and TV Shows suggest. But in this new show he is a very different Johnny who seems to have trouble living in the 21st Century. He never seemed to recover from losing the match and more importantly the girl. He’s living in shambles doing odd jobs to make a living until a bullied teen steps into his life. Now once he starts training his new student and opens a new Cobra Kai Studio, here enters the Karate Kid Daniel LaRusso. Now this Daniel is doing very well for himself, a successful car dealership a beautiful home, a beautiful wife, and 2 beautiful children. But soon Daniel finds Johnny teaching the Cobra Kai Karate to new sudents. In this new Show Daniel is truly someone you want to hate he’s rich, successful, and in all accounts kind of a douche bag. But soone both are at eachother’s throats trying to beat the other.
Now the story was really very good until the final episode where many of Johnny’s students started showing tendencies from the original Cobra Kai group very aggressive and just mean. This was probably the only thing I saw wrong with the story throughout. Like I said the story was really good and the production value was spot on. This show will surely help YouTube Red to start entering the streaming community like Hulu and Netflix. However this show is really about the only good thing on YouTube Red so you might want to wait for that YouTube Red membership for right now. But this is about the onyl reason right now to subscribe for at least a month.
Now on a scale of 1 to 10 igive Cobra Kai a strong 8.
